Sorry to hear of any issue you hare having with this phone system.
May I ask:
1) The TOTAL number of handsets you have with this system?
2) If more than one handset, do ALL handsets have the Talking Caller ID turned ON (do they all speak the ID)?
3) Does the MAIN BASE UNIT of the system also speak the ID?
4) Can I assume you want to turn the Talking ID OFF?
I see it has been a few days and I just wanted to follow up to see if you have any more questions concerning this issue or if the issue was resolved.
I have a link to a video that shows how to turn OFF (or ON) the talking caller ID. Please take a look and see if you can do the same steps on the system you have. Also, you may have to do this for EACH of the handsets you want to turn off this feature.
