Sorry to hear of any issue you are having with your answering system or phones.
To help you with this issue, may I ask:1) The Make & Model Number of the phone/answering system you are working with? If a cordless system, that model should be printed on a sticker on the bottom or back of the main base unit.
2) What phone service provider (phone company) you have for this phone line?3) If you have ANY other devices (phones, fax, alarm system, etc.) attached to this same phone line (not part of the MAIN system), and if so, are they working properly?

OK - have you tried listening to this particular message using BOTH the MAIN BASE UNIT (using the PLAY button) AND the cordless handsets (more than one)?
And if so, do you have the SAME RESULTS (of low or no volume) using different instruments?
Also, do you have access to an OUTSIDE phone line (such as a cell phone or neighbor/friend's phone) and can call your system and leave a NEW TEST MESSAGE - to see if that can be heard at a good volume level?
