If you feel the power cord (the wall plug portion), does it seem warm to the touch?
If no, you probably just have a bad power supply, which can be replaced: http://amzn.to/1Pnv4F9 (this is the same adapter for the extra chargers too, so you can test one first to be sure before replcing).
Otherwise the base unit is faulty, most likely damaged by a power surge.
You can't buy just a base, but can get another of the same system and pair the existing handsets to it (used though, this model is discontinued): http://amzn.to/1Pnv8Vk
