I have a Panasonic phone system - not quite 2 years old

Customer Question

I have a Panasonic phone system - not quite 2 years old
Model #KX-TG7871. I am having a very unusual problem.
There is one number (local number) that I cannot reach - get a busy signal immediately
and in turn - they also get an immediate busy signal when they attempt to call me.
I have had to use my cell phone to reach them.
Could there be any reason or this?
I have attempted to call other numbers with the same prefix and can get through to them fine.

Hello, I’m Nathan, and I’ll be assisting you today. My livelihood depends on your positive feedback, so your satisfaction is my highest priority.

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble.

Can you tell me a bit more about the problem please:

1) If you have multiple handsets (within the same system), does this happen with all of them?
2) Are there other phones or even a fax, outside of this system but on the same line? If so are they working properly?
3) Is this a landline from the local phone/cable company, or a VOIP service (vonage/magicjack/etc)?
4) Do you have dsl service on the same line?

I have four additional extensions and the same on all happens.
#2. No
#3. Comcast Cable
#4. ? What is DSL service?

Are we still talking on line? This is VERY confusing - what with all the ads.
Expert:  Nathan replied 1 year ago.

I'm sorry, that last reply wasn't from me, I'm not sure how the lines got crossed,

yes I'm still here with you.

If you have cable, then dsl does not apply.

This could be a panasonic issue or a line issue. To isolate the problem further we really need to test another phone on the line.

Would it be possible for you to get/borrow just a basic corded phone and plug that in to the line to call this number?
If not, can you please unplug both power and the phone line to the panasonic unit, then have this person call you again, and let me know what happens (immediate busy signal, endless ringing, voicemail, etc)?

I think I have just wasted my money - I cannot get a response - PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No I cannot. Just forget it

I'm right here, please give me a moment to reply back, I'm a human being not a computer, it takes me a few moments to read your responses and reply back in turn.

You can't unplug the phone for a minute?
