Customer Question

Our land-line Panasonic phones now give one short ring on a phone call. If you don't pick it up immediately, you do not get the call. I went through every instruction in the manual and could not fix it. They are KX-TG410 phones

Hello my name is***** look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem. What is the model number on the main base?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
KX-TG410
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
On the main base it is KX-TG4131
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
On one of the handsets press Menu #211.
Now increase the ring setting it shows.
Once done press the option that says save.
Now press off to confirm it. Please test the phone.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did as you directed (and had already tried that) and it did not work
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
What do you have it set to?
.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
6 rings
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
Please lower it all the way to toll saver and save it.
From what you are describing that is what it is currently using.
Test it and make sure it still picks up on the second, then repeat this but change it back to 6.
.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That didn't help either
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
Unplug all bases and disconnect the battery from all handsets.
Then wait 5 minutes.
On one handset hold down the call button (button used to answer) for 30 seconds with the battery still removed.
Plug in one base and put the battery back into that one handset.
Put the handset on the base and wait a couple minutes.
Pick it up and see if it is working properly. Then make a call to it and see what the ringer does.
If it is working now do the same thing with the other handsets one at a time in case one of them is causing this.
If this did not work please come back and let me know by clicking on reply to expert so we can continue.
If it did work please don’t forget to leave a positive rating it is greatly appreciated.

I will have to contact you back (since I paid $26) because my bases are on 3 different floors and I have a workman here that I have to talk to because my husband has dementia
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
Don't worry you can take all the time you need to get back to me.
.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have done that with the main base and another one and it did not work - the phone are active, but the problem with one ring and nothing on the line continues
Expert:  Freddy M. replied 1 year ago.
Unfortunately I am out of ideas so I will opt out and open this to all experts.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Or refund my money and we will get rid of our land line!!!

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,
Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...
Initially, bear with us; who is your phone service provider please?
And confirm; outgoing calls can be made as expected?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Outgoing calls can be done. When the phone rings it's one time, there is a symbol of the bell with a line through on the phone in the main base.
Expert:  Louie replied 1 year ago.
The bell with a line through indicates that the ringer volume is set to OFF.
Have you tried increasing the ringing volume ?
And your phone company please?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is at the top of the volume. It is with a cable company. I will call them, but then I want a refund on my $26
Expert:  Louie replied 1 year ago.
The reason I asked for the phone company is that it is possible that their Voice Mail option may have been inadvertently turned ON hence all incoming calls are diverted to the servers after the first ring.
Could you please try asking for them to turn it off?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The problem is in the wiring, but I do need to process a refund since it was not resolved this way - no fault of you, Louie
Expert:  Louie replied 1 year ago.
Appreciate your kind understanding.
I would now forward the refund request.
This is not an Info Request.
