Model KX-TG6534 used to allow me to get my messages remotely. Even after changing my code, I can't get my messages.
Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only... Initially, are the messages available when listening directly from the base unit or handset but not remotely?41093.704696956
Yes, when I listen from the base or a handset the messages are clear.
When able, please try 111 (again) as the access code and determine if remote access would be possible using a touch-tone phone. Please post back results of the above.41093.7845404282
I called my phone from a remote phone and left a message. I had set up the phone to ring 4 times if I have no messages and 2 times if I have a message.
I reset the code to 111. When I called from my remote phone, it rang twice, my greeting message comes on at which time I put in the code. The unit does not pick up as it should.
Appreciate the update. When the remote phone was used and 111 was keyed in, did you hear the tones generated when 1button was pressed? Is the remote phone used a landline phone or a cell phone?
The remote phone is a cell phone. No, I do not hear any tones when I key the code in when the message begins. Then, after I hear my landphone answering machine pick up, I try the code again, but nothing.
I used to be able to hear my messages for two years until just recently.
By chance, did you changed your cellphone model recently?
NO.
The reason it was asked is due to the feature of some cellphones that inhibit keypad functions (touch-tone) during a call. This is a possibility considering that "...do not hear any tones when I key the code..." Or such feature may have been enabled inadvertently with the current cellphone.A way to test is to call the Panasonic using a remote regular landline phone. The alternative is that the Panasonic's answering system has an internal hardware issue. Please post back when able to test remote access using a regular touch-tone landline phone.
Thank you for your attempt. I'll have someone check out my Panasonic.
I understand.Thank you for the post back / update. This is not an Info Request.
