tried to reset disconnect phone line remove batteries reconnect phone reinsert batteries disconnect phone router reconnect phone router reviewed menu options note we had a severe electrical storm

Your router is most likely the issue. Reset router and try again. Disconnect router from power then back on.

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

1) Can you tell me if the main base unit if this phone system was plugged into electrical power during this storm?

2) Also, do you have another different "corded" phone that you can TEST your phone service with?

3) One more question: Do you have a cell phone that you can use to call your home number? If so, please do that and let me know what you hear in the cell phone.

Hi Greg

I did more research and finally called AT and T. This is what I found.

There was a field that was on that should not have been.....the do not disturb field was on.....how it was on is a puzzlement to me since I did not put it in the on position?????
