I am not able to get my message alert indicators to flash to tell me there is a message.
Already Tried: I reset menu by #340 and "on" for message alert.
Hello & Welcome,Can you tell me the Make & Model Number of the system you are working with? Thanks
The phone is a Panasonic and the model # XXXXX XXXXX
Hi again & thanks for that information. Can you tell me the AGE of this system and if this function has worked in the past? Also, do you have the new message indicator ON - on the main base unit when you have a message stored? One other thing: Do you have another phone - such as a cell phone - that you can use to leave TEST messages, if we have to test this function? Thanks
Hi Greg, I gave you the wrong model number. The correct # XXXXX XXXXX I do not know if I have the main base unit on because I cannot figure out how to do this. But on the handsets the message indicators are on. I am using 2 handsets. Yes, I have a cell and will leave a test again. I did test it before I contacted you and nothing worked.
OK - the 6441 and 6431 are about the same, except the 6441 has a keypad that you can use to place calls, plus a microphone in it.The message indicator on the base is the same as the "Play" button. So if you have called and left a message on the system, then that message indicator should be on. Is that the case? Also, have you actually reached the answer machine in the 6441 when you call? I only ask because sometimes folks have "voice mail" that takes the calls - BEFORE the answering system has a chance to do that.I also did not see the AGE of this system. Is this a NEW system to you and do you have the manual for it?Thanks
I bought the phone January of this year. I have a manual and did what it told me to do. But the only way I know I have a message is to lift up the handset and then I can hear the beep to alert me. But I thought a light would flash slowly on the handset also to alert me. And the main base says there is no message, which is wrong. I bet the problem is that Comcast catches my calls before the base does, because I do not use the base for the message but Comcast. Never thought that this could be the problem. I do not reach the answer machine in the 6441, it goes directly to Concast answer service.
Hi again,OK - if you are not reaching the answering system, then that would be the answer. What you will need to do - IF you want to use the answering machine in the Panasonic - is to get into the Comcast system and either turn OFF their voice mail system OR otherwise configure the system for a HIGH number of rings before Comcast voice mail picks up.At the same time, you may want to check and see if the Comcast system can be programmed to send that "voice mail waiting" signal. Sometimes this is turned off by default and can be turned on.Now since Comcast uses different voice mail systems in different areas, it would probably be best to contact Comcast service directly. Let them know exactly what you have been seeing and hearing - and what you want your system to do.Please let me know if you have more questions about your system. Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX
