Customer Question

I have a uniden dss7855+2 which has suddenly stopped dialing out. none of the handsets or the base station will work. they sound as if dialing but dont connect, nor will they ring when the number is XXXXX from my mobile. An old touch phone works fine on the same line. I have completed all checks as on page 71 of manual with the exception of deregistering. I figured there was no need to do this as the base station doesnt work. Fixable?

Hello & Welcome,

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier.

Can you tell me how long you have owned this system and when this issue began?

Can you also tell me if any of the handsets have messages on the display?

I am thinking that this may be a "line" issue between the phone jack in the wall and the main base unit. Can you take the main base unit - power adapter and all - and connect it where the "other" phone (touch phone) is on the same line? Please try this with the phone cord that is currently connected to the Uniden base AND then try it with the phone cord that is attached to the "touch phone" - if possible.

Please let me know your results.

Thanks

Aha, the problem is solved, it works perfectly in the other socket, the rats must have been busy under the house!!! The unit is 5 yrs old and worked perfectly yesterday. Thanks

Hi again,

Sometimes the connections get dirty - over time. You may find that the unit works when you plug it back into the other socket. Or you could plug the touch phone into the other socket - as a test. But if that does not work, then the "rat patrol" would be in order Smile.
