new phone no dial tone
Already Tried: tried everything in book not sure about registering base
Hello & Welcome,Can you tell me the Make & Model Number of your new phone system? Thanks
panasonic kx-tg4021/kx-tg4071 series
Hi again,Sorry for the delay. My network seems to be a little slow today.OK, are you replacing an older system - which you can plug in to the phone jack and still get a dial tone? I only ask for test purposes - to find out if this is a phone system issue or a phone service issue. Also, have you allowed the system batteries to charge for at least a few hours yet? Thanks
yes batteries are fully charged and had old system pluged into same phone jack and also tried in other working jacks
Hi again,Sorry for the delay again - still having network problems. If everything is charged and connected properly to the phone jacks that have been confirmed to be working, AND you are NOT seeing any error messages on the display of the handset(s) then you should be OK. But there are a couple of things that you should try. First would be a different phone cord - between the base unit and the phone jack. If you still have the one from the old system, you could swap that in between the base and the phone jack and see if that does any good. If you have a cell phone, you could also try calling your home number and see if the answering system picks up the call. That would tell us if the base is working, or if it is a connection issue between the base and the handsets. You could also try a system reset, as shown below. This will reinitialize the system - just in case something is "stuck" between the components.============================1) Remove the batteries from ALL handsets in the system.2) Remove the phone cord from the main base unit AND the phone jack in the wall.3) Remove the AC power adapter plug from the main base unit AND remove the AC adapter from the power outlet.4) WAIT 15 minutes. This allows any "stuck" conditions in the components to clear.5) Reconnect the batteries in all handsets.6) Reconnect the phone cord between the main base and the phone jack in the wall.7) Reconnect the AC power adapter plug in the main base unit and then plug the AC adapter into the wall power outlet.8) Wait 30-60 seconds for the system to reinitialize.9) Test each handset for proper function.10) Test each function of the main base unit (answering system, caller id, etc.).============================Please give these things a try and let me know what you find or if you have more questions.Take Care, Greg A.
i had already tried everything you ask me to try encluding trying a phone that i knew woked thought i might be missing somthing simple
Hi again,So is it still not working? Can you call your home and have the answering system pick up successfully?
it does not ring in
Hi again,OK - if your old phone is still working, and this new one does not allow any calls to come in, then you may have got a bad unit (base unit).Again - of the old phone is TESTED to work in the same phone jack as this system, and the new one does not work, then you have a bad unit.Since it is a new system, the quickest way to handles this would be to return the system to the retailer where you purchased it. Just explain what happened when you tried to connect it and ask for a new system in exchange. Please let me know if you have more questions.Take Care, Greg A.
