I’m looking to setup a small office with some form of VOIP PBX system.I’m currently interested in the possibility of setting up 5 phones connected to some sort of PBX that will use Google Voice with something like the Obi 110. The goal is to have phones on all 5 desks using Google Voice to dial out. How should I go about it? And will we be able to also receive calls on these phones?
Optional Information: Computer OS: Other Browser: Other Already Tried: Some basic research.
Alcatel is a good company to try.. You can have your main PCX with extension available to program for each phone.. when you set up a phone just give it the programmed extension. you can also have your phone lines coming into the PCX as trunk lines or have a T1 come into the PCX that gives you several lines for calling out..
Would that allow the phones to dial out using Google Voice?
Yes it is all how you program it and what you tie into it, Pretty much do whatever you want as long as it is programmed right
Will I be able to receive calls on those Google Voice numbers as well?
Yes, of course, that's a major feature of Google Voice. Simply register and verify your landline (Settings > Phones) and GV will forward calls to that phone, and up to 6 in total that are registered and verified to your GV account.
Experience: I have alot of PCX programming and general phone Exp.
