Do you know if you have external voice mail from your phone provider?
Verizon is my phone provider. I had a 301 number that has been disconnected & now I have a 202 number , all from Verizon.

Yes, I do have an external voice mail and it has been set up for the new nimber and is working.
I would think that there is a new voice message from your current mailbox. Have you checked your external mail box and listen to all the messages?
Do check this disconnect the cable that connects the phone to the wall and see if you still have the voice alert tone
I have done all of the above and none of that has worked.
I will opt out and let other experts try this
