I had a very severe reaction to Fosamax and now my doctor

Customer Question

I had a very severe reaction to Fosamax and now my doctor wants me to take Prolia, once every 6 months. I am afraid this will be the same reaction. Are there same ingredients in each of them?

They do not have the same ingredients and are not in the same drug class. You will be safe to try Prolia. Hopefully this fully answers your question. Once satisfied please rate my answer. Thanks.

what do you mean by drug class?
Expert:  Dr. C. Rollins replied 4 months ago.

Prolia is a monoclonal antibody and Fosamax is a bisphosphonate, therefore their chemical structures are not similar and there is no chance for cross sensitivity. Once satisfied with my answer please rate your satisfaction. Thanks.
