Customer Question

hello - recently the US Food & Drug group sent out a bulletin saying that the US authorities and the Mexican govt. were withdrawing Reumofan Plus from the market. I and many of my friends have gotten such relief from these pills (one a day) and now we are back in pain because we got scared when we read the June 12 bulletin. Do you have any experience with Reumofan Plus and can you share you experiences with me. Many thanks XXXXX

P.S. I FORGOT TO ASK ABOUT DILOFENAC SODIUM AND METOCARBONOL - ARE THESE DRUGS DANGEROUS IN THE AMOUNT THEY ARE FOUND IN REUMOFAN PLUS THANKS

I'll be happy to look into this for you. Please give me a minute.

The reason for the action by the Food and Drug Administration (as outlined in the following link: http://www.fda.gov/NewsEvents/Newsroom/PressAnnouncements/ucm306348.htm) is this product is a dietary supplement that contains prescription compounds.
The FDA has jurisdiction over prescription products, since this product contains prescription products it should be subject to FDA scrutiny.
Since this product was found by the FDA to contain prescription product, it is not surprising it benefited you. However, since it is being manufactured outside of normal oversight channels, there is absolutely no way to ensure whether these ingredients are pure, safe, and how well they work (e.g. may vary from one batch to the next).
This is the right call on the part of the FDA. I would not be surprised if the manufacturer is subject to harsh criminal penalty providing it resides within a jurisdiction subject to US law (it is manufactured in Mexico).
With respect to your question as to if the amounts diclofenac and methocarbamol contained in this product are safe, one cannot comment because (1) these ingredients are not listed on the label (2) produced outside of normal channels so purity, safety, and efficacy is entirely uncertain.
