I take Krill Oil and have been advised not to take it because I take the blood thinner Coumadin. Is this correct and what are the risks
Optional Information: Gender: Male Age: 69 Already Tried: have done nothing except stop taking it as of yesterday 10-2-11
Thank you for your question,Taking coumadin with krill oil can potentially increase your risk of bleeding. Coumadin makes your blood less likely to clot and the use of other agents like Krill Oil theoretically can increase your risk of bleeding. It is possible that you can take the Krill Oil with Coumadin but this may require more frequent blood tests by your healthcare professional to monitor you; so don't take them together without the prescriber of the coumadin knowing. Good luck!
