I am getting ready to start a round of Bactrim in the morning. I take a lot of prescription medicines and was wondering if there were any medicines that I should not take with Bactrim. I take Dexilant and my main conern is whether it will interfere with the absorption of the Bactrim.

XXXXXXXX,Thank you for your question. There is no expected interactions with the Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) and Bactrim. However, Bactrim can interfere with some drugs used for diabetes, cyclosporine (used to prevent organ rejection in transplant) and Coumadin (used as a blood thinner). These three are some of the big drug-drug interactions that would warrant further investigation/strategies to over come them with these substances and Bactrim.Hope I answered your question!
