Is it very bad to take 600 mg of trazadone?

typical dose 100 mg.
Customer-Thanks for your question.A dose of 600 mg of trazodone is about the maximum daily limit for an adult. Normally, this medication is started at a much lower dose and over time the dose may be increased as tolerated and as needed to treat the patient's symptoms. It is not "very bad" to take this dose, since this is not considered an overdose, however the chance of adverse effects increases with the dose. If 600 mg is the dose that is prescribed, it would not be taken all at one time. Instead it would be split into two or three doses per day. At high doses, and especially if taken all at once, side effects are very likely, including but not limited to dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision and possibly nausea and vomiting.I hope this information answers your questions and that you found it helpful.Regards,Bill
