My Peugeot 307 hdi has a popping noise from the engine what could it be (coming from inlet intake pipe )

The engine runs ok the noise seems to be from the top end of the engine,maybe hydraulic valves stuck from lack of oil changes? Oil looks very thick?? Just taken the car as trade in, 240k on clock
The engine seems to be popping through the intake pipe,maybe a hydrolic valve or camshaft fault,no injector pop,no engine mangement light on vehicles always starts and drives,obviously the popping noise gets worse..please advise.????

The car is full of oil & coolant,drives well no miss in the engine at all just this noise, what information do you want? I just want some pointers as to what it might be that's causing the problem, bent camshaft, rappers valves ????

I posted this question on 9th of July when you could not wait for me to pay my € 15 you said there was an expert waiting to answer my question,it is now 12th July and I still have no reply to my question whis is most annoying considering you have my € 15, I am not very happy and would like you to refund my €15 please ASAP its the first time I have used this site and was sceptical when using it at first,but all my concerns in using the site have been answered,so a refund would be the answer i would like at this point in time,I will get an answer to my cars fault somewere else,thank you for trying but obviously you don't have the personnel to deal with this question.
