depollution system faulty message is displayed. Local Peugeot mechanics haven't fixed it. Engine misfires, message appears I lose power, have had it towed once already. Is this a computer fault or mechanical. It is awfully dangerous trying to pull out on to a busy road with NO POWER. After reading all the tips and solutions on this website I am even more confused. Had a commodore years ago that did the same thing and the computer system was replaced (under warranty) and that fixed the problem

Hello, the depollution fault occures when the cars engine computer can not alter the fuel/air ratio to compensate. So when a mis-fire occures you will get this message. The coils on these cars are prone for faulting, and, also these will not show a coil fault on the computers fault codes, they will just record a 'misfire' or even no fault. I would certainly look at replacing the coil pack as a first measure. Thanks Darren
