MY R REG 306 SEDAN'S WARNING LIGHT "STOP" CAME ON SUDDENLY AND TEMP GAUGE WAS SHOWING IN THE RED DANGER AREA. I STOPPED EXPECTING TO SEE STEAM BUT ENGINE & RAD WERE QUITE COOL. RE-STARTED OK AND TEMP GAUGE NOW BACK TO NORMAL. JUST A BLIP OR EARLY WARNING OF TROUBLE AHEAD?

Hi .This can happen when you are slightly low on coolant and have a air lock in the cooling system. always make sure you have the coolant system topped off .The Stop light came on due to the temp gauge reaching Hot to warn you before you damage the engine .Keep a close eye on this and if it happens again and the coolant is still ok replace the thermostat and also make sure the cooling fans switch on when they should.Need further assistance then please get back to me.Kindest regards Greg
