Hello and Welcome to justanswer..

Im afraid that while the indicators may seem a simple enough issue - on these they are not..

Your problem is either, the switch unit itself - on the column - or, the Bsi unit - computer control module..

Try disconnecting the battery for 30 mins and re connect and see if that will cure it - it will often... If not there is whats called a Bsi reset procedure you can try which I can give you if needed...and if that doesn't work, then Im afraid its diagnostics time to trace the fault...

Im very pleased to have helped you - Let me know if I can help anymore...

Hi Mike
I just reconnected the battery after a little over 35mins and still nothing.
Guess we will have to try the reset procedure now.
I have to say that this is the worst van i have ever had for problems as nothing is easy to fix!!
Will wait for your next instructions.

cheers
P

Hello again - thank you for your reply...

Indeed- Peugeot's / Citroen's and the like - terrible for electrical / electronic gremlins - most everything needs diagnostics and are usually expensive to sort.

So - I will give you the full bsi reset procedure ...see if this works.

If it doesn't - you really are left with no choice but to get garage help .

Ok so here is the full procedure for you Paul....let me know how you get on..

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.

Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.

Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).

Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Failure to follow this procedure could result in incorrect operation of many BSI related item.

Please do click the Accept for me now too as thats how Im credited for helping you .

By all means let me know how you get on / or if you need anything more -

Hi Mike
How I wish i could say that this worked but it didnt and to be honest I'm not surprised.
This is nothing against you it's just this van.
Am going to get a new van asap now as I've had enough of these problems.
Thank you so much for all of your help.

Kind regards
Paul

Hi again.. Thank you for your reply...

No - its not me.... its the van ! or more precisely - a fault with your Bsi... If it wont reset - it needs repair to cure it - as mentioned above Im afraid.

Im sorry thats not good news for you -- but that is the way forward if you wanted to cure it..

~~~ Please do click the Accept button for me now - so that Im credited for my time etc... Thank you again..and you are Welcome back anytime -
