Female rat occasionally dragging back leg, some hair missing

Customer Question

Female rat occasionally dragging back leg, some hair missing on the flank... could this be an injury and what should I do?
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Have you looked to see if there is a wound on their foot?
Customer: Yes.. none on the feet at all.. the hair missing on the flank on the same side though makes me wonder.
JA: The veterinarian will know what to do. What is the rat's name and age?
Customer: Cocoa.. I think she may be about 1.5 yrs... got her as an adult
JA: Is there anything else important you think the veterinarian should know about Cocoa?
Customer: Just the balding spot on the flank on the same side

Can you post a video of her walking and dragging the limb?

When did this start?

Is she caged with any other pet?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
Unfortunately I am work... I just noticed this yesterday, and yes in a common cage with 4 others...

That's no problem. You are welcome to post the video when it's convenient for you. I will be on all day.

I tried to get a video.. the file is too big trying to capture it.. put her on the floor.. leg is only dragging on the same side as the hair loss... likely an injury?
