Hello, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to help you today. I'm reviewing your question right now.

1) Can you share pictures showing the areas of concern, scabbing and shriveled skin appearance?
2) When did this begin?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Hi and thank you! This began sometimes last week, I'm at work now but will send you picture later
Expert:  PitRottMommy replied 5 months ago.

Ok. I'll keep an eye out.

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It's very sad & he's scratching himself
Expert:  PitRottMommy replied 5 months ago.

Poor kid! He is definitely intensely itchy.

I think your best bet is going to be having him examined by a veterinarian and treated. Some skin diagnostics will need to be performed to determine the cause of the itching. We can see this with a variety of ectoparasites like fleas, mites and lice. More often than not these are either transmitted by another animal or their bedding.

Do you have a vet in mind for treatment or do you need help finding one?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Unfortunately, by previous experience vet bill came to astronomical amount, and my animal died at the end.

So, not planning to return to that particular vet?
