Hello and thank you for your question. I am a Veterinary Nurse with over 15 years experience and I have assisted in the care of many pets with this particular medical concern. It would be my pleasure to assist you today. Is it possible for me to obtain some additional information from you about your companion?

1) What strength of acepromazine tablets do you have on hand?

Note: Injectable meds need to be given injectably but tablets can be used off label for oral administration.

JACustomer, I had not heard back from you in 15 minutes so I signed off.

The injectable acepromazine is most often 10mg/mL. 2-4mg is typically given every 100# ***** means this horse could have received up to 44mg which is 4.4mLs. The sedative effect may last as long as 36 hours IF if was given injectably. Orally may last as long or longer because more was given.
