increased thirst, weight loss, now dizziness and inability to stand or walk straight.
Hello,
Is your pet a dog or a cat?
How long is he like this?
Thanks,
Terri
Miniature Schnauzer, @11 years old. 10-12 days with increased thirst, 7 days weight loss, this morning with the dizziness. Still urinating and defecating, still trying to do the "normal" activities. We have an appointment for Tuesday with the vet...worried that it may need to be moved up.
Dear friend,
I am sorry your baby is not feeling well.
It sounds like he may have a disturbance to his equilibrium called Vestibular syndrome.
It is usually NOT serious and caused by an ear infection;

You can try Dramamine. DOSAGE HERE:

However a dog his age may have cushings, diabetes or hypothyroid causing excessive thirst
More detail about canine hypothyroid here.
Read about Cushing's here.
He should be seen today if he continues to act this way.
If your regular veterinary office is not open today, you can use this directory to look for an emergency clinic:Emergency veterinary directory here.
Please let me know how he is doing.
I hope he feels better very soon.
Best wishes for him,
