we are moving to maine at the end of this year. other than the normal rabies, distempter, parvo and feline leukemia, what else should i get them vaccinated for? I have two dogs and 1 cat.
Optional Information: Female
Are the cats indoors or outdoors? Thanks,Drew
both the dogs and the cat are indoor outdoor. it's hard to keep the cat in all the time, he thinks he's a dog. they don't go out at nite, and the cat is only allowed to go outdoors for a few moments at a time.
OK, thanks for the info. For the cats, Rabies, FVRCP ("Distemper"), and Leukemia should all be considered required vaccinations. For the dogs, rabies, distemper/parvo/hepatitis/parainfluenza (DA2PP or DHPP), Lyme (Maine has significant Lyme disease presence), and Leptospirosis should all be considered required. Leptospirosis is sometimes included with the Distemper combination. Both cats and dogs should also be on a monthly heartworm preventative for best preventative care.-Drew
