My tiny Yorkie (3.5 lbs) wont eat or drink ...

Resolved Question:

My tiny Yorkie (3.5 lbs) won't eat or drink hardly anything and is lethargic. She doesn't seem to feel well. She does not seem to have vomiting or diarrhea. (just one little bit of diarrhea but two solid movements yesterday.) Her nose is cool and moist. She drank a tiny bit of water from my hand and ate about 3 very tiny bites of food. That's all from yesterday until today. It's Saturday now. Can I try to wait until Monday? What could be wrong?

Hi Mark,

Tiny dogs get hypoglycemic and dehydrated very easily. Put a drop of pancake syrup on her tongue to raise her blood sugar right away.

Next add unflvored pedialyte (baby dept) to her water to hydrate her and balance her electrolytes.Give droppers if she does not drink it - one cc every ten miutes for half hou.

Offer her boiled chicken, beef or cottage cheese but you MUST get her eating.

Please let me know how she is. I will be here all weekend to help.

Very sincerely,

Terri
