If a goldfish was damaged and scrapped it's scales would the scales would they grow back? Also if the underneath fin is damaged will the fish be able to survive?

Yes if a fish's scales were damaged they would grow back but the potential problem with any kind of external injury is the possibility of an opportunistic fungus or bacteria invading the wounded area. It is for this reason that you should treat (add to the water) the fish with 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt per every 5 gallons of water and a medicine called Melafix. The combination of the salt and Melafix will help fight off fungus and bacteria and will also help heal the wound quicker.
