My Schnauzer has little pimple like bumps on her back. They have increased over time. Is this diet related or will medication be required?Optional Information: Age: 3; Female; Breed: Standard SchnauzerAlready Tried: different food, conditioner and special shampoo
This could be due to a skin infection based on a thyroid problem so checking for that might be worthwhile. Food allergies can also trigger staph or yeast infections. And if you send her off to be groomed clipper burn or infection picked up from grooming tools is another possibility. Even though this is a standard and not a mini it still might be Schnauzer bumps or Schnauzer comedone syndrome which is an inherited issue depending on how reliably pure her blood lines are. You can read about that here http://www.upei.ca/~cidd/Diseases/dermatology/Schnauzer%20comedo%20syndrome.htm I'd suggest working with a veterinary dermatologist if you can as the best choice for troubling skin issues. You may be able to locate a specialist near you here http://www.acvd.org/public/findaderm/index.htm Hope this helps you!
