shih tzu wks old what is usual and customary cost for

Customer Question

Shih Tzu 9 wks old what is usual and customary cost for Stenotic Nares surgery?

Optional Information:
Age: 9; Male; Breed: Shih Tzu /9weeks

Already Tried:
firs day I had him antibiotics x 1 week at the 1st vet
2nd vet keeping him warm and continuing the AB, then if it continues to look at possible deformity of nasal passage ie Stenotic Nares surgery, they are saying $30 + anaesthesia, but my other Shih Tzu was $230 to remove a fox tail from her nose. What is normal and customary? Puppy sounds loaded w/Mucous- laps water well eats well, poops and pees well. No fever ever. He's gurgling when he breathes. The breeder said he'll outgrow it.

They said only $30 for the procedure? The stenotic nares? I wonder if they meant $300?

If that's the case, you need to go ahead and do it before they change their mind. Surgery in my area for the same type of surgery is $110 to $250.

The surgery will remove a piece of the nasal cartilage allowing for better air flow.

Let me know if you still have questions.

They usually go home the same day and do very well. You need to limit activity for the first 72 hours or so but they bounce back quickly.
