how do you neuter a duck

Customer Question

My male duck is constantly mating with my female duck, and he is injuring her. How can I have him neutered? I don't want to keep them separated all the time.

Ducks like chickens are surgically altered so if you don't feel up to doing the surgery yourself your best bet is to find someone who can do it for you. The local agricultural college might be of help in finding the right person or the local country extension agent's office (every county has one) might be too.
This site has lots of links on duck care http://www.newagrarian.com/homestead/ducks/index.html and flock management which may also give you some clues.
Might be getting a few more female ducks would solve the problem or giving them more space etc.
Hope this helps!
