When your dog is eating well, the diarrhea has subsided and YOUR VET tells you that you can take the dog home, you can feel comfortable doing so.
Be sure to keep the dog's fluids up when you get home. Parvo kills so quickly because the dog quickly gets dehydrated. Also, be sure to follow your vet's instructions about booster shots and repeat vaccines.
You can get extra water into your dog when you come home by mixing a little water in with his regular food. You can also give him ice chips to entice him to drink.
