Help! I fed refrigerated, previously opened Fluker's gourmet

Customer Question

Help! I fed refrigerated, previously opened Fluker's gourmet crickets to my bearded dragons, and hedgehog- not realizing they should have been in the fridge. Are they going to be okay? What can I do????

My name is ***** ***** I have been a Vet tech for 30+ years with special ineterst in Reptiles and Reptile rescue as well as working with other exotics. The animals should be fine. The name gourmet crickets is another name for dried crickets. They hold no nutritional value. In reptile circles we would never feed anything but live prey, since a prey item needs to be gutloaded before feeding. I suggest live prey only to include silk worms, phoenix worms, dubia roaches and crickets. Your Dragons should be getting 80% fresh veggies and 20% live prey. The most you may see from this incident would be some looser stools. I would give the Dragons a nice soak in a 50/50 Pedialyte soak to make sure they are hydrated well.
