Hello,

I am so sorry to hear about this.

Are you able to handle the axolotl to move him?

What type of enclosure is it in?

Do you have a Herp Vet?

Have you gotten the enclosure cleaned for him or in a new enclosure?

Hello,

It sounds like the Axolotl is in a toxic shock. They are very sensitive to water conditions and with him being in a dirty tank for the extended period of time, the water quality and stress has made him very ill. If possible I would make sure you have some good filtration if you do not already have one. I would continue to do a 25% water change daily and when you do I would use a bottled spring water.

I feel that he needs to see a Herp Vet asap. That may be the best chance to save him. I want to be honest, that an Axolotl in this shape may not make it, but a Herp Vet may have some tricks up his sleeve that can pull him through.

Please let me know if I can further help.
