Hello,

Are these pet geckos?

Are they running wild within the house?

What type of geckos are they?

They pretty much show-up periodicaly, however, they seem to be multiplying. Which is ok. We just want to feed/water them as needed so they will possibly be more domestic

Hello,

It sounds like you have what are called House Geckos. I live in Fl, where they find a way in and out on their own.

They eat insects and are nocturnal. There is not really a food that can be put out for them since they eat insects. As far as water, they will seek it out from Faucet drips and other sources in and around the house. There are poducts sold by Zoomed called CanO meal worms, Can O Silk worms and Can O Crickets that you can purchase and leave out for the geckos: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=6458.

I wish I could tell you how to domesticate these geckos, but unless caged, they will come and go as they please.

Most people ask how to get rid of them in their homes and it is refreshing to see you offering them a safe home.

Joan
