Dog had upset stomach and went out in the yard and started

Customer Question

Dog had upset stomach and went out in the yard and started to eat leaves we think are azalea's.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Penny approximately. 8 years. She hasn't shown any reaction and has been at least 15 minutes
JA: Is there anything else the veterinarian should be aware of about Penny?
Customer: Nothing, she has eaten weeds before but never bushes

Hello, JACustomer. I have been a Veterinary Nurse for over 15 years and would be happy to help you today. I'm reviewing your question right now.

Are these bushes you have in the back yard?

How long ago was this consumed?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
in back yard, 20 minutes

Due to the symptoms you've seen prior to this AND the ingestion of possible azaleas, which is toxic to dogs, I would take her promptly to the ER for examination and treatment.

Do you have an ER clinic in mind? Do you need help finding one?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
She hasn't had any reaction and is quite playful.

If this only happened 20 minutes ago, she wouldn't have a reaction to the azalea consumption yet. I would still recommend an ER visit.
