Hi JaCustomer,

My name is ***** ***** I’ve been involved professionally with dogs in the health and behavioral fields for over 18 years. It will be my pleasure to work with you today.

I have to let you know that no expert can tell you to give your dog a prescription medication without you notifying your vet directly. What I can do is give you a site that discusses the dosage of this drug in dogs. See this below.

http://www.vetbook.org/wiki/dog/index.php?title=Moxifloxacin

Monifloxacin (avolox) is not generally used for UTI's. Read about this here:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1071654/

It is also not recommended to give an antibiotic unless you are able to do so for a full course of the antibiotic. This is to reduce antibiotic resistant bacteria. What you might try is adding a little cranberry juice to her water. Be sure to provide lots of clean water and also a place for her to eliminate.

This site discusses UTI’s and various medications used for treatments.
