My dog has a swollen paw, mainly her toes. She puts weight

Customer Question

My dog has a swollen paw, mainly her toes. She puts weight on it and I can handle it without her withdrawing it. I have massaged it. She is a 12 year old lab. Could it be arthritis? She does have arthritis in her knees.
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the dog's name?
Customer: Lily
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Lily?
Customer: Lily is on metacam.

Hello! I am Dr Welsh and I am happy to help with your questions today. I am sorry that your pup isn't feeling well. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this. I have just a few additional questions for you so that I can make the best recommendation.

how long has this been going on for?

has it changed at all?

any current meds or illness (other than the arthritis?)

has she been to the vet for this yet?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Hi. This had been going on a little while. We didnt notice it due to her pre existing condition. She had a compromised rear end due to an accident a few years ago. I dont think it is chnging. She had not been to sre the vet about this. Her activity level had decreased ad she would rather sit down instead of walking much.
