He was groomed yesterday and we found wound under his eye

Customer Question

Hi he was groomed yesterday and we found wound under his eye when he got his hair cut. I have clean it with a warm cloth last night and this morning - making sure that his eyes are clean - but it a finger space beneath his eye
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Is the dog bleeding a lot?
Customer: No, it dried up - and I have just made sure that I wipe over it with a warm cloth - after I clean her eyes in the morning and before she goes to sleep.
JA: Phew. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Snookie - she is about 12- 13 years - dog years.
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Snookie?
Customer: No - she is eating and drinking as per normal - and bowels are okay too. Would I need to get a cream - anti-bacterial cream - or is it okay to just wash with a warm cloth to wipe away the dried up blood so it doesn't turn into a sore ?

The wound has dried up - would it be best to continue to clean it with a warm cloth to make sure that its clean?
Customer: replied 13 days ago.
She is eating and drinking without any difficulty

I apologize, I have to go as I am at work. Regards

It will not hurt to keep it clean with a warm cloth. If there is a reasonable distance away from the eye and no rubbing, you can also use Neosporin twice daily.

Check back in when you have time. Again, our conversation has no time constraints. There may be a delay in hearing back from me if I am not at my computer when you respond but I will get back to you ASAP.
