I am very sorry to hear about this concern.
I hate to provide that type of answer, but it is a very honest answer. I have heard of clients trying all sorts of tricks like high doses of pain medication, sleep agents, etc...None of them work. They simply make a dog really ill!
Nothing compares to a veterinarian administering the euthanasia s olution. Most vets also give a sedative or anesthetic drug like acepromazine or propofol before the euthanasia solution. So, a pet can effectively be put to sleep humanely, and very fast at a vet office. Very very sorry that I couldn't provide a at home answer, but this is definitely the best answer.
