Hi this is Dr. Hill. Please give me a moment to type my response. thank you
Molly is definitely acting nauseous. Nausea is typically associated with pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas in response to high fat intake), gastroenteritis secondary to an infection, inflammation or foreign body or a toxicity. Has she gotten into the trash this past week? Does she get any people food (meats, cheese) or marrow bones? What anti seizure medication is she on?
Can you think of anything that she has gotten into lately?
Has she had any dry heaving? Does her stomach look distended?
If she has been showing signs of a UTI and is now nauseous, then the two are likely related. She should have a urinalysis and some bloodwork to make sure that she does not have pancreatitis and that her kidney values are normal. If she vomits and is then able to settle down and rest, you can likely wait until morning to take her to your local veterinarian. If she is anxious, continues to try vomiting and can't get comfortable then she needs to be seen tonight.
Did she vomit?
Your welcome. Take care.
