My name is***** and I'm sorry to hear that Hamish is having sinus problems tonight. Is there any drainage from his nose? Is he sneezing or coughing or just snorting? How do his eyes look? Are they red or have any drainage?

Have you tried giving him Benadryl to reduce the drainage in his nose? The dose is about 1mg per pound of body weight.

Please let me know the answers to these questions so that I can help you tonight.

He is panting his head seems filled up. It's in his head he has been on antibiotics. He is eating. Drinking water and everything else. Seems like nasal is plugged both sides. He has not been able to smell. He try's to blow his nose a lot. Makes a weird noise. He snores also
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Also sneezing. And girgles a bit after eating

Thanks for the update. How long has Hamish been on antibiotics? Which antibiotic is he on?

Will he let you put saline nose drops in his nose? This can help loosen everything up.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
His head seems clearer and breathing better. Can I give him a decongestant?
Expert:  Dr. Amanda replied 1 month ago.

No, sorry. Decongestants are actually dangerous for dogs- they can cause high heart rate and high blood pressure. Saline nose drops and antihistamines are the best we can do for them.
