Customer Question

He ate 50 mg of my mom serequel I'm worried
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the dog will be able to digest that. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the dog?
Customer: No thanks

How much does your dog weigh please? Seroquel (quetiapine) is well-tolerated by dogs with lethargy and sedation the main adverse effects seen within the initial 1-4 hours after ingestion.

He looks like he going to sleep
Expert:  Dr. Michael Salkin replied 2 months ago.

Yes, that's what I would expect. 50 mg/6.8 kg (15 lb) = 7.4 mg/kg. Dosing at 100 mg/kg was tolerated by dogs. There's no reason to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Watch his respiratory rate which should stay stable at more than 8 breaths/minute while he sleeps. If it falls below that rate, please have him attended to by an on-call vet. Please continue our conversation if you wish.
