My 14 year old dog has a tumor on her spleen. She is taking

Customer Question

My 14 year old dog has a tumor on her spleen. She is taking Tramadol HCI 50mg. She is out until the vet opens tomorrow. Can I give her my Tramadol HCL
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Some lumps are serious and some aren't. Let's see what the Veterinarian has to say. What is the dog's name?
Customer: Sadie and they wanted to euthanize her three months ago
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Sadie?
Customer: She takes thyroid and continence meds.

Hi there. My name is ***** ***** I'm happy to help you with your question.

How many mgs is your Tramadol?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
the same as hers 50 mg

Great. Thanks for the additional information. I really appreciate it.

Since they're the same dose, it would be okay to give her one of yours....however, I believe yours are extended release, which means she could have one tonight, but then you cannot give her another one until tomorrow.

So if she's painful tonight, then yes...you can substitute yours...but definitely give your own vet a call in the morning and have them send out some more of her own and make sure to tell them that you substituted your own, just to be on the safe side.

I hope this helps.

Hers pill bottle has HCI 50mg, but I think it could be a typo and is HCL

No....in animal medicine, we don't use extended release products as a rule...but if it is, then awesome, even better!
