JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Could be a lot of things that cause lethargy. The Veterinarian will know how to help the dog. What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Daisy Ann is around 8 or 9 weeks.

Customer: She has been diagnosed with puppy strangles and she is on antibiotics.

Hello. Thanks for the question.

If she is not responding, then I would probably get a second opinion with another vet. The reason, is because puppy strangles is an auto-immune condition. Antibiotics help the secondary infection, but the actual disease is treated with steroids (Prednisone). Without steroids, they don't tend to recover.

I would try to get a second opinion tonight or tomorrow and start steroids at that time. Most puppies improve fairly quickly after starting Pred.
