9 week old lab. sprain front left shoulder xrays negative for break. 3 doctors confirmed. swelling increasing after 5-days. puppy is immobilized and she's feeling very nonactive. vocal throughout the day expressing pain and discomfort. abduction produces most pain. still non weight bearing. presently on metacam.

Hi there. My name is ***** ***** I'm happy to help you with your question today.

Although Metacam is great for inflammation, since she's still painful, if this were me, I'd ask my vet to send out something like Tramadol to work in conjunction with the Metacam.

Metacam is like aspirin....and Tramadol is a synthetic version that's like Morphine, so it's awesome for pain control. Luckily they can both be used at the same time, so asking the vet to send some out will help give her better pain control.
