Hi there, Poor Stella! She sounds like her gastromintestinal tract is quite upset! If the dark stool looks like coffee grinds, I would be concerned about a possible bleed in her upper gastronintestinal tract (stomach or first part of intestines), particalurly with the previous diagnosis of gastritis. Dark stool usually indicates digested blood. This can be life-threatening, particularly if there is enough blood loss to cause an anemia. If she is acting lethargic, not wanting to eat, passing moderate to large amounts of dark stool or diarrhea, has a bloated apperance to her abdomen, or vomits more than once, I'd have her evaluated tonight or first thing tomorrow. It doesn't sound like something that should wait until tomorrow afternoon. Hope this is helpful, and please let me know if you have any other questions!- Dr. C
