Customer Question

My little 9 pound puppy swallowed a 200mg Motrin that I dropped on the ground yesterday. About 26 hours ago. She is not showing any signs or symptoms that I have read about. Would she already be showing signs of sickness?
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: I am just worried that I might need to do something else for her but she is acting like nothing is wrong.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Dog Specialists generally expect a deposit of about $19 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.

If she has remained asymptomatic, she should continue to be so. Ibuprofen (Motrin) can cause gastrointestinal ulceration at 50 mg/lb. Your puppy ingested 200mg/9 lbs or just 22 mg/lb. At that dose transient GI distress in the form of inappetence, vomiting and/or diarrhea might arise but not toxicity. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
