2 weeks before our 16 year old yorkie passed away our 12

Customer Question

2 weeks before our 16 year old yorkie passed away our 12 year old yorkie started wetting her bed or crate. Thought it was an infection because she never did this befor ever. After a round of antibiotics she was still doing this. Took her to get blood and urine test done. All test came back perfect. Dr said she may be incontnant. Gave her meds. Still wetting now even pooping her area. Here and there leaving a puddle in the house. She never did this always asked to go out. Seems like she acting out since her sister died. What can we do, we bought her a stuffed dog toy for company. Don't know what else to try.

Hello and thanks for your question today. I'll be happy to help you find a solution to this problem. Can you tell me more about your situation with the 12 year old?

1) What is her name, so that I may refer to her as such?
2) Was a urine culture performed or just a urinalysis?
3) What antibiotic was used to clear the possible infection?
4) What medication was used to help the incontinence?
5) Is she spayed?
6) Do you see her leaving these puddles? If so, does she squat to deposit them or is she laying down when it happens?
7) Is she on any other medication? Anything for liver, kidney, heart health?
