Hello, I am Dr RB and I am a licensed veterinarian. Unfortunately, you cannot extract your dog's tooth yourself. Any form of tooth extraction requires gas anesthetic and not simply a sedative such as acepromazine. Furthermore, when an abscess is present, once the tooth has been surgically removed, the pus pocket will need to be medically flushed and closed with sterile suture. Also, a bacterial culture and sensitivity test can be completed to determine the proper antibiotic is prescribed. Without this, the infection can extend to the jaw bone and make prognosis more guarded. Unfortunately, a sterile and successful procedure can't be mimicked at home so please do not attempt it.
I hope this advice was helpful to you. Please do not forget to rate my response which I hope you found to be excellent. Let me know if you have other questions or need clarification on anything here :)
